Grand River Brewery participated in the Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts at Cambridge’s new City Hall. The evening event showcased foods from our local restaurants along with performances from local musicians. We introduced officially our new beer at the event - Hanenberg Pils.

The brewery hosted a quilt work shop for instructor Dwayne Wanner. Participants in the quilt workshop learned to make a wonky quilt which is really a form of fabric art compared to traditional quilt techniques. All participants enjoyed the experience and learned to quilt out of the box.

The Brewery operated the beer gardens at Mill Race Park for the Mercedes Benz Classic. Runners came for across Canada and several states to participate in this annual event. Races were held for grade students through to Olympic hopefully at the local track in front of the Galt Collegiate. The final was the one mile event referred to as the Dream Mile by the runners.

July 18-20, 2008

The brewery will also be participating at the Kitchener Waterloo Rib Fest held in Victoria Park. Check back at this site for additional information.

August 1-3, 2008

Grand River Brewery will again be operating one of the beer gardens for the Mill Race Festival held in Cambridge. Be sure to visit the festival’s home site for this year’s schedule of events and musicians and mark it on your calendar. The festival keeps getting better and bigger every year.

KW Oktoberfest Parade

Grand River Brewing sponsored a Welsh Pony hitch wagon in the 2007 KW Oktoberfest Parade. Michel and Diane Bougie came with their four ponies From Kingsley Falls, Quebec to participate in the parade and were thrilled to have Grand River Brewing as their sponsor. The entry's theme was a micro hitch for a microbrewery.

Orangeville Morris Dancers

The Orangeville Morris Dancers asked Grand River Brewing if they could visit the brewery before it opened as they has a special ritual for blessing a brewery. The Brewery welcomed them in late May 2007 for the opening ritual. Grand River Brewing has produced some great beers since it opened June 2007 so the blessing must have been successful.
